Contracted laboratory for Biomarkers

BIOANALYTICA GENOTYPE SA was established in December 2004 as a biotech startup aiming to provide specialised molecular cytogenetic research and application services to the biomedical Community.

 

Was funded by BIOANALYTICA SA, a leading stakeholder in the greek market for molecular diagnostics and laboratory infrastructure, and by the researcher Dr. Georgia Bardi, Associate Professor of Experimental Clinical Genetics at the Medical school of Lund University, Sweden and former Director of the Cytogenetics facility at Saint Savas Oncology hospital of Athens.

 

Is co-financed by the Greek General Secretariat of Research and Technology under the 3rd Community Support Program (03 Praxe 26).

BioAnalytica-Genotype SA offers access to state-of-the-art equipment and scientific and technical expertise in the fields of molecular cytogenetics and molecular genetics, in partnership with private companies and public institutions, to carry out basic and applied genetics research. Available technologies in cytogenetics include FISH, M-FISH and in Molecular genetics include Real-time qualitative and quantitative PCR, multiplex-PCR, RT-PCR and sequencing for a broad spectrum of clinical applications ranging from karyotyping to genotyping.

 

BioAnalytica-Genotype SA is primarily interested in researching cancer pathogenesis, the indentification and investigation of novel markers as diagnostic and prognostic indicators and the development of new ready-to-use reagents for molecular cytogenetics and molecular genetics platforms.

Core competencies

 

Detection and identification of genetic changes at different levels of analysis using integrated methodological approaches:

 

1. Chromosomal analysis (high-resolution karyotype, metaphase and interphase Fluorescent In-Situ Hybridization (FISH), chromosome painting and multi-color FISH (M-FISH)

2. Panoramic genomic analysis (M-FISH)

3. DNA analysis (PCR, real time PCR, quantitative PCR, SNPs, DNA sequencing, pyrosequencing, MLPA)

4. Analysis of gene expression (RT-PCR, quantitative RT-PCR)
